Buildings that were abandoned and left to decay are given life and illuminated both metaphorically and by natural light.

In these paintings, the abstract compositions simplify views in elevation format. A facade is flattened and abstracted to serve as a primary element in the composition conveying a sense of mass and volume. Large geometric shapes are formed from dominant shadows raking across a surface. With details purposefully omitted in the composition, the viewer is left to question its function and how it served its occupants.

Architectural elevations are a classic mode of communication for architects.
